penguin cafe orchestra

the penguin cafe orchestra released their early records through brian eno's eg label. their sound has a similar artsy bent, but is more staccato. one might call it "contemporary classical" or even "new age". i hate to say either. just check out "surface tension" from their first record. s/t. 1976. eg records.
