compost was a jazz-rock band that featured jack dejohnette on drums. lots of loud guitar, rhodes, and percussion. most songs have vocals. their 1973 record, life is round, is my favorite. there are a bunch of funky drum breaks and freakouts. soulstrut wrote about life is round from a beatmaker's perspective and i don't agree. btw, i also posted about dejohnette a while ago.
